I've loved Mary Walsh since I first encountered her in Codco shows at Theatre Passe Muraille. Followed her on 22 minutes, when she wore her pleated plastic rain hat as Muriel or whomever her wonderful old woman was. She's been brilliant, fearless and so funny all these years. She walks the uncertainty tightrope with dash. A wonderful first choice for your new podcast - thanks!

Now, you & Mary Walsh talking is like a window on the other side of the universe for me. I'm a straight male and although I like to think of myself as reasonably sensitive, this discussion of *feelings* is at a level beyond me. Nevertheless I came out of it with a smile on my face.

I was thinking that the reason why we are happier when we are older is that we're retired and blue collar people & white collar people are set free when that happens. Wage slavery is still a very potent form of slavery, and people who have been mostly self employed can somehow live outside that, but when psychologists, (some might think of them as scientists(?)), come to guage happiness as a function of age will detect a gradual rise in it after retirement. It's always nice to see either one of you talking about life and your experiences. Thanks for this.
